INTRODUCING PRE-EVENT REGISTRATION IN 2024
It's been amazing to see Reef & Run steadily grow over the years. We saw a record number of swimmers participating last summer. Because of this popularity, the City of Santa Barbara has asked us to cap the number of swimmers in the water each week to 300 so that lifeguards don't get stretched thin. The city's lifeguards do an excellent job each week keeping us all safe and it's important to follow their guidance.
With our new 300-swimmer limit in mind, we've established a pre-registration "reservation" system for swimmers who want to ensure their spot each week. Starting next week, this online registration will be available during a window from 10 a.m., Monday to 10 a.m., Thursday. Completing online registration will guarantee your spot on Thursday evening.
Season-pass holders can simply input their name, while non-season pass holders can submit the $20 registration fee at that time. Then, on Thursday evenings, registrants will only have to wait in line to select a race distance and receive your race number.
In-person registration will still be available, we just can't guarantee a spot if it happens to be a very busy night. This includes season-pass holders.
Come Monday, visit ReefandRun.org to find pre-race registration. We'll also send out another email early next week as a reminder.
CHANGES TO PARKING PASSES
Like previous years, the city's waterfront parking department is making special parking passes available for Reef & Run participants. But unlike previous years, parking staff will not be present at Reef & Run to facilitate the transaction and distribute them.
Instead, to obtain a parking pass this year you will have to purchase it online using the link below, then make a quick visit to the Waterfront Parking office in the harbor (132-A Harbor Way) to pick up the laminated pass.
It is very important to note that parking passes must be purchased and picked up this week, before 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Parking passes are $84 and cover 12 Thursdays from June 6th to August 29th, excluding July 4th.
